Starting
the Adventure
The
Elizabeth Lookout Loop begins at the Knapsack Reserve entrance, conveniently
located off the Great Western Highway. As you set foot on the trail, you’ll
quickly notice the peaceful ambiance, a stark contrast to the noisy cityscape
you left behind. The trail is well-marked, making navigation straightforward
for both novice and experienced hikers alike.

Scenic Views: As you ascend, the
landscape begins to unfold, offering sweeping vistas of the surrounding Blue
Mountains. The Elizabeth Lookout is a prime spot to pause and soak in the

steeped in history, adding a layer of intrigue to your hike. Knapsack Reserve
was once a significant site for early European settlers, and remnants of old
mining activities can still be seen along the trail. Main attraction is the Lennox Bridge, opened in
1833, is the oldest surviving stone arch bridge (Aqueduct) on the Australian
mainland. It crosses Brookside Creek (also known as Lapstone Creek) on the road
known as Mitchell's Pass (Source – Wikipedia).
